Newtown Park is a suburban community park that features three separate dog enclosures – one for large dogs, one for small dogs, and a combined area for dogs of all sizes.
The large and small dog enclosures, also known as the “Dream Dog Park,” were designed and built by the Beneful dog food company as the result of a contest. It mainly consists of artificial grass, with a small section of mulch landscaping. It offers ample seating options, including covered awnings, fun bone-themed picnic tables in the large dog area, and some shade from surrounding mature trees.
The third enclosure, intended for dogs of all sizes, is a more wooded area that offers full shade and a few benches for seating. Waste stations are also available.

Dunwoody’s largest park, Brook Run, offers two separate enclosures for large and small dogs spanning 2.5 acres. The dog park features a mix of open and wooded spaces, providing plenty of shade in the wooded areas. The grounds are a combination of gravel and dirt, and there are several benches and retaining walls for seating.

Conveniently, there is a parking lot located next to the dog enclosures.

Piedmont Park, one of Atlanta’s most iconic inner-city parks, features two separate enclosures for large and small dogs, spanning 3 acres. These enclosures are sparsely shaded and consist of wood chips and dirt, with a few scattered benches and large rocks for sitting. Despite being located in the city, the bordering Six Springs Wetlands and other surrounding trees make it feel like you’re not in the city.

Lake Court Park, one of the City of Smyrna’s neighborhood parks, features an off-leash dog park with a single enclosure for dogs of all sizes. It has open green space and shaded areas provided by mature trees. Additionally, the park has benches and a long retaining wall for seating.

The park is conveniently next to the Smyrna recycling center so you can drop off your recyclables on your way.
Swift-Cantrell Park offers a great dog park. It features three separate enclosures for large, medium, and small dogs, spanning 1.5 acres with small shaded areas, grass, and dirt ground with gravel entrances. Additionally, it has benches and picnic tables for seating- a perfect place to take your furry friend for a run and play.

Lewis Park is a great spot for dog owners in the Marietta area. Located just one mile north of the historic Marietta Square, this park has repurposed its baseball outfield into two separate enclosures for large and small dogs. The enclosures consist of grass and dirt, with benches and picnic tables for seating. Canopies provide the only shade in the enclosures over the picnic tables.

The larger parking lot, on the corner of Radium St. and St. Joseph Way, is the closest to the dog areas.
Get a snack and a drink for the park at Sessions Stand coffee shop, located just one block down on the corner of Sessions St and Campbell Hill St.
Burger Park, a lesser-known spot among Symrna neighborhoods, is a dog-focused park with two separate enclosures for large and small dogs. The enclosures consist primarily of grass with some shade provided by the trees surrounding the perimeter. Seating is limited, with only one bench inside each area, but a couple of picnic tables are located just outside the entrance gates.

Don’t forget your sunscreen; not a lot of shade.
No bathrooms at this park, so plan accordingly.
If you’re looking for a great place to spend time outdoors with your dog and allow them to play, look no further than Morgan Falls River Park and Morgan Falls Overview Park. These two connected parks, located along the Chattahoochee River, offer plenty of amenities for dogs. On the River Park side, you’ll find two separate enclosures for large and small dogs, each with views of the River and the Morgan Falls Dam. The enclosures feature a grassy ground cover, a few benches and picnic tables, and some shade from nearby trees. On the Overview side, you’ll find a wooded nature trail that stretches for about 0.75 miles. This trail is the perfect place to take your dog for a leisurely walk or run on a leash.

When entering Morgan Falls River Park from the main road, the dog park is located to the left and down the hill, next to the gravel parking lot.
The parking areas tend to fill up quickly during peak hours.
Sweet Water Park has transformed one of its baseball fields into two separate large enclosures for large and small dogs. These enclosures feature large, grassy fields with minimal shade, except for the multiple covered benches.

The dog park is closed for maintenance every Wednesday morning, so plan accordingly.
As the dog park is on a repurposed baseball field, it also includes concrete stadium seating that overlooks the dog park areas.
Woofstock Dog Park
Woofstock Dog Park in Woodstock is a great destination for pups and their owners. The park offers two separate enclosures for large and small dogs, spanning 5 acres. The enclosures have woodchip ground cover, limited shade from perimeter trees, and multiple benches for seating. Additionally, the park offers extended playtime for you and your furry friend with the added convenience of lighting until 11:00 PM, allowing for fun and exercise even after the sun goes down.

The Woodchips in the park’s enclosures tend to become muddy after rain, so be prepared for that.
This park is part of the Greenprints Trail System and offers access to the Towne Lake Pass Trail and Noonday Creek Trail. It features miles of flat, concrete paths suitable for walking or running with a leashed dog.
Sweat Mountain Park is a community park that offers a great space for dogs to play. It features two separate enclosures for large and small dogs, both of which have a combination of open and wooded areas. The large dog park is particularly spacious and one of the biggest among the ones we’ve come across. The park offers ample shade within the wooded areas, multiple benches, and picnic tables for seating. The ground cover mainly consists of wood chips, providing a comfortable surface for dogs to run and play on.

When visiting this park, you’ll find two separate parking areas. The closest parking lot to the dog enclosures is off Steinhauer Rd.
Please plan ahead and bring your own water for your dog during the winter months, as the park’s water fountains will be turned off.
Tucked behind homes and apartments along N. Jamestown Road, you’ll find Mason Mill Dog Park, which is separate from the main park. The park features two separate enclosures for large and small dogs, each with a woodchip ground cover and partial shade provided by the trees within and around the enclosures. In addition, there’s a pavilion with picnic tables next to the parking lot for visitors to enjoy. The best part of this park is that it’s just a few steps away from Burnt Fork Creek, where your furry friend can enjoy some water play, and the park’s wooded trails that lead to the main park. Mason Mill Dog Park is definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a peaceful, shaded spot to take your pup for a playdate.

The Dog Park is approximately one mile from Mason Mill Park and connected via wooded trails. The trails consist of elevated boardwalks and concrete pathways and extend for miles, connecting to Medlock Park and Emory University.
Brookhaven Park has transformed a section of its land into a 5-acre dog enclosure for dogs of all sizes. The dog park features a unique combination of wooded areas and open spaces with rolling terrain, providing the perfect setting for dogs to explore and play. The wooded areas offer plenty of shade, and there are multiple benches throughout the enclosure for owners to sit and relax while watching their pets play. Additionally, there are picnic tables and a pavilion within the enclosure. As a bonus, there is even a small creek for dogs to explore, making the park even more fun for your pup.

Wills Park is a 120-acre community park in Alpharetta and home to the Waggy World Paw Park, a designated area for dogs to run and play off-leash. There are separate enclosures for large and small dogs, each featuring multiple benches, ample shade, and a ground cover of grass and pine straw.
The park also has a third enclosure for dogs of all sizes. This area is more wooded, offering full shade and a few benches for seating. It’s a perfect spot for dogs to explore and play in a natural setting while their owners relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The closest parking lot to the dog park is at the Alpharetta Community Center off Roswell Street. To access the dog park, walk around the back of the community center along the path, and the entrance to The Waggy World Paw Dog Park will be on your right.
East Roswell Park is a community park that provides a wide range of amenities and organized activities. One of its features is an off-leash dog enclosure, which is open to dogs of all sizes. The enclosure features a combination of grass and dirt ground cover, providing a comfortable surface for your dog to play. Additionally, the area has benches and picnic tables for you to relax on while your dog plays, and the nearby trees provide some much-needed shade on hot summer days.

There are two parking options when visiting the dog park. The first is a gravel lot located off Fouts Road, which is the same entry point as the Roswell Art Center. The second option is a large parking lot behind the Recreation Center and next to the sprayground, with stairs leading up to the dog park.

Skyland Park, a neighborhood park in Brookhaven near Dekalb Peachtree Airport, features two separate enclosures for large and small dogs. These enclosures consist mainly of dirt with minimal grass and limited shade, except for the covered benches.

Solar sunshades with electrical outlets are available inside each dog enclosure and near the volleyball court.
Please note that the fences are not very tall, so keep an eye on dogs that like to jump.
During wet weather, the enclosures may become muddy in low-lying areas.
Adair Park in Decatur offers a spacious off-leash area for dogs of all sizes. The enclosure is nestled within a wooded area, providing plenty of natural shade and a ground cover of wood chips and dirt. Visitors will find multiple seating options, including chairs, benches, and picnic tables. The enclosure extends on both sides of the canal, connected by a narrow path along the top of the hill. Note that parking is limited to street parking.

Arrow Creek Park in Chamblee has a dog park that has welcomed both large and small dogs since its opening in April 2021. The park has two distinct enclosures that feature dog agility equipment and covered seating for their owners. Most of the dog park consists of grass; however, the fountain areas and the fence edges have gravel as a surface.

The park has a big open field near the dog enclosures, perfect for playing with a frisbee.
Additionally, the park has a fully-equipped outdoor fitness area with modern equipment for cross-fit training, cardio, and calisthenics.
At Graves Park in Norcross, there are three designated dog enclosures for visitors to enjoy with their furry companions. These include a specific area for small dogs, another for large dogs, and a third combined area known as the Dog Run. These enclosures are a short walk from the main parking lot and feature grassy ground cover, benches, and limited shade.

Additionally, a large open field is ideal for playing with a frisbee.
In 2022, Avondale Estates Town Green debuted as the first part of an upcoming mixed-use development. This vibrant space offers a variety of amenities to enjoy, including a play area, a pavilion, and a stage perfect for community events. There’s a small area where dogs can play off-leash, complete with a wood chip ground cover and a couple of benches. While there isn’t any shade, the area is lit in the evening, creating a welcoming atmosphere for nighttime visits.

Located in Duluth, Rogers Bridge Park is home to the popular Chattapoochee Dog Park. This park has large enclosures for big and small dogs with grassy ground cover, benches, picnic tables, and shaded areas around the perimeter.

Water fountains, rocks for climbing and jumping, and a water splash pad to cool off and play on hot days.
Park Pointers:
The park is next to the Chattahoochee River. It has a pedestrian bridge that connects it to Cauley Creek Park, featuring a 5k rubberized pathway perfect for walks or runs while keeping your dog on a leash – Access to the Chattahoochee River for playing and exploring.
Walker Park is an in-town neighborhood park with two off-leash dog enclosures, one for small dogs and one for large dogs. These enclosures are at the back of the park and have grassy ground cover, benches, and limited shade. However, there is no additional seating. This simple dog park has waste stations as the only doggie amenity. The park also has a large open field perfect for playing frisbee. Remember to follow all leash laws when outside the enclosures.
