Park Description

Powder Spring Park is a 25-acre park that hosts youth baseball with its multiple baseball fields and outdoor batting cages. The two playgrounds, pavilions, and passive walking area make this park an excellent place for the whole family.

Walking/Running

  • “Passive Area” – .2 wooded pathway
    • Accessible by:
      • On foot – from the main park, cross the bridge located next to the historic water pump (over Powder Springs Creek)
      • By car – There is a three-space parking pad accessible from Brownsville Rd
    • Includes: Picnic tables and benches

  • Lucille Creek Trail ~1 mile, 10-foot wide concrete pathway
    • Starts near the north park entrance at the intersection of Brownsville Rd and Powder Springs Dallas Rd
    • Connects to the Silver Comet Trail

Larger playground designed for ages 5-12

  • Located: North side of the park, Brownsville Rd entrance
  • Includes: Multiple slides and climbing structures
  • Ground-type: Wood chips
  • Shade: No shade
  • Seating: Benches and picnic tables at a nearby pavilion

 

Smaller playground designed for ages 2-5

  • Located: Southside of the park, Lewis Rd entrance
  • Includes: Multiple slides, climbing structures, and saucer swing
  • Ground-type: Wood chips
  • Shade: No shade
  • Seating: Benches

Pavilion – located next to the playground from the Brownsville Rd entrance, reservable

  • Includes: Lights, outlets, picnic tables, and nearby large covered charcoal grill with a water spigot
  • Note: This covered grill is very long (6-foot) and not ideal for charcoal style grilling. The grilling plate is very high and you would want to stack this grill with chopped wood.

Pavilion – in the center of the five field cluster and next to the concession building (Lewis Rd entrance)

  • Includes: Lights, outlets, and picnic tables

Little Free Library

 

Historic Site – A pump from one of the 7 mineral springs

  • No fenced area
  • Animals not permitted on fields
